Volunteers working on Darkinjung Country to protect your environment
The MacMasters Beach Bushcare Group Inc was set up in 1996 by former local resident Anne Mulford to care for our local environment by:
- Regenerating the bushland, lagoon foreshore and sand dunes of MacMasters Beach, under Central Coast Council's Landcare Program.
- Monitoring activities in the area to ensure the lowest negative impact on our local environment.
- Participating as a stakeholder in community consultations about MacMasters Beach environment with Federal, State and Local Governments, the MacMasters Beach & District Progress Association and regional environment groups.
- Seeking grants and other funding to support our activities in MacMasters Beach,
- Provide education and community awareness to the community about local environmental issues
Our bushcare site
We operate under the approval, authority and supervision of Central Coast Council's Environmental Volunteers Program.
Our work site extends from the Surf Club in Marine Pde, along the sand dunes to the mouth of Cockrone Lagoon, then along the lagoon foreshore adjacent to Lakeside Dr and The Scenic Road, almost as far as LooLoo's Coffee shack, plus Bounty Hill Road reserve east of The Scenic Road.

Acknowledgment of the original occupants of this land
The Group acknowledges original occupants of this land, the Darkinjung people and their elders past and present, and we pay them respect through our work to protect and enhance the natural environment of MacMasters Beach and Cockrone Lagoon.
Working to restore our environment is a practical way to pay that respect.
